I am a native of Texas and attended the University of Texas at Austin where I earned my teaching degree. I come by teaching naturally, as my mother and father were both teachers in the small Texas town of La Grange where I grew up and where my parents still live today. I am the oldest of three children. One of my brothers is also a teacher and a coach in San Antonio. I have grown to love Colorado’s weather and lack of creepy crawlers, however, I still miss my family back in Texas. We go back twice a year for about 2 weeks at a time to get our family fix.
I taught 7th grade science for five years in Austin, Texas, before getting married and moving to Colorado. I began teaching 5th grade at Tarver in 2001. I love the sense of community here at Tarver and have enjoyed getting to know the students and their families. My own family has grown during this time as well. My husband, Eric, and I have three children. All my children have attended Tarver. Xavier is a sophomore and Noah is a freshman at Horizon High School. Our daughter, Chloe, is a fourth grader here at Tarver. I hope to be here, at Tarver, making a positive difference in the lives of children for many years to come.
