Greetings Tarver Tigers and the Tiger Community,
I am excited for this my fourth year at Tarver as a School Social Worker. It has been enlightening as we all grow together. Growing requires failure which elicits countless feelings and emotions. Our goal is to be present and empower children to take ownership of those feelings and to persevere. We also want to provide a safe environment so students are able to focus and thrive. These are all challenges that we hope you as parents/caregivers can partner with us in managing and ultimately overcoming knowing more challenges await.
When not in this building I enjoy cooking, gardening, coaching, skiing/snowboarding, carpentry, fishing, starting and managing fires, playing baseball, and camping. My wife and I met at Western State College now know as Western State Colorado University. We have two children who participate in every extracurricular activity they possibly can. Or at least it feels that way. We also have a dog named Tonka.
Work and family combined can feel overwhelming. I have a great deal of empathy for new parents, veteran parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, children, or anyone who identifies as a human being. I rely on my supports to help me survive and hopefully thrive so please know I consider myself one of your supports and I hope you do as well.
Please feel free to reach out to me. I am here.
