I am a Colorado Native. I grew up in Lakewood, Colorado and am a proud graduate of Lakewood High School (the other “Tigers”). I split my college years between the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley (Go Bears!), earning a Bachelor's degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Elementary Education. Additionally, I earned my Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Phoenix. I lived in Thornton for 23 years and currently reside in Westminster.
I am the PROUD mother of my two favorite people, Molly (a Senior at Legacy) and Aidan (a Freshman at Broomfield High School)--both former Tarver Tigers. To date, they represent my greatest accomplishment. We share our lives with my husband Dave and his two kids, Taylor and Brandon. With four teenagers, there is never a dull moment in our home!
Teaching has been my career for the past 29 years. I have had the good fortune of working in various districts, specifically Sheridan and Jefferson County and at various grade levels: 1st, 2nd, 3rd 5th and 6th grades have felt like "home" to me over the years. I am lucky enough to be beginning my 20th year as a Tarver Tiger. Fifth grade is an exciting place and I love the energy that my students bring to our classroom. Not to mention the fact that I get to spend each and every day with two of my best friends, Judi Maestas and Cheryl Stanley. The Tarver community has been my "home" figuratively and literally as I lived in the Signal Creek neighborhood for eighteen years. While I no longer live in the neighborhood, this community continues to be very special to me and my kids.
